New Cotton Candy Catering Cart

Here it is Candy babels new cotton candy cart to be!
The Mobil Mixer is a heavy duty work cart for mixing concrete from the 1940's.
The original graphic couldn't be better!
The plan is to restore and retrofit it to hold our cotton candy machine, a battery, lights and an umbrella.
Stay tuned to be the first to visit the cart around Portland or reserve it for your next party.
Project estimated completion date 2/1/2012.

Creating Joy, Not Waste This Holiday.

A fun idea endorsed by Candy babel this holiday is the Recycled Bow. Use those old magazines rather then just dropping them in the recycling bin.            Save trees, save energy, save money!

Make them: instructions round bow

Candy babel is Creating a “Name Day” Calendar for 2012

What is Name Day?

It is an old European tradition. Every day of the year is someone's Name Day. People all across Europe have been celebrating their first names for centuries in the same way you celebrate your birthday.

At Candy babel we hope to create a unique name day calendar that reflects Portland, our community and our friends.

All you have to do is submit your name to any one of the following:
the comments box here on this blog,
comment and share on Facebook (be sure to tag candy babel),
or email it to

Limit 5 entry's per household.

The dates will be randomly assigned.

Once the calendar is completed, it will be posted all year long at

When your name day rolls around, we invite you to come down to our shop for a free treat, to celebrate you!

Oodles of off the tree Candy Cane recipes.

Candy Canes can be more then just decoration.
This year make the simple holiday snack sing to your taste buds, sounds like Decembers song.
We may use them to stir your hot; cocoa, tea, coffee, lattes & cappuccinos
I like them best crushed lightly and sprinkles on top of whipped cream or use to rim a cocktail.

CandyCaneLaneTake a stroll on candy cane lane with this minty cocktail:
2 1-2 oz Vodka
1 oz White crème de menthe
1/2 oz Peppermint schnapps
Splash of Grenadine
Peppermint candy for garnish

Add a dash of grenadine into the bottom of a chilled martini glass and set aside. Pour the rest of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into the glass with grenadine to create a “swirl” effect. Garnish with peppermint candy.

Candy Kebabs or Edible Fondue Sticks (spear marshmallows and roll them in sprinkles or other crushed candies)
Hold them back till 2/14 Valentine’s Heart (I’ll try to kitchen test this over the weekend)

Feel like baking?
Peppermint Meringues
Add to Rice Krispies Treats
Candy Cane Cheesecake

Happy candy creating and fresh breath for all.
